Cabling & Bracing

Structural support that protects split-prone or multi-stem trees from storm and load damage — without taking the tree down.

Cabling & Bracing

Save The Tree, Without Taking The Risk

Plenty of beautiful trees have a structural weakness — a multi-stem trunk with a tight V-crotch, a heavy lateral, included bark hidden in the union. Removing the whole tree is rarely the right answer. Cabling and bracing reinforce that weakness so the tree can keep doing what it's doing — providing shade, character, and value — for another 20+ years.

  • ANSI A300-compliant steel cable installations
  • Through-rod bracing for split or splitting unions
  • Static and dynamic systems chosen by case
  • Installed only after a structural assessment
  • Periodic re-inspections recommended every 3-5 years
  • Far less expensive — and disruptive — than removal

FAQ

CABLING & BRACING QUESTIONS

Does cabling guarantee the tree won't fail?

No system is a guarantee — wind, ice, and decay all keep working on the tree. A properly installed cable significantly reduces the chance of catastrophic failure under load.

Is cabling visible from the ground?

Cables sit high in the canopy and are usually unnoticeable from a distance. Hardware is sized to the tree.

How often does the system need maintenance?

We recommend an inspection every 3-5 years to check tension, hardware, and how the tree has grown around the install.
