Reclaim Your Yard From The Old Stump

A leftover stump is more than an eyesore — it's a tripping hazard, a mower-killer, and an open invitation to termites and carpenter ants. Our stump grinder chews stumps down 6-12 inches below grade so the area can be backfilled, seeded, mulched, or replanted with no obstruction underneath.

  • Below-grade grinding (typically 6-12" below soil level)
  • Surface root grinding so you can lay sod or hardscape
  • Tight-access machines for backyard and gated lots
  • Optional grindings haul-away or use as natural mulch
  • Fenced and locate-marked properties handled carefully
  • Same-day add-on after a tree removal saves you a service call

FAQ

STUMP GRINDING QUESTIONS

How deep do you grind?

Standard depth is 6-12 inches below grade — deep enough to plant grass, lay sod, or pour a slab. We can grind deeper if you're planting a new tree in the same spot.

Do you remove the wood chips?

By default, the grindings are left on-site as natural mulch. If you'd prefer them hauled away or backfilled with soil, just let us know in the estimate.

Will the roots come back?

The visible roots will eventually rot in place. If a stump was previously sprouting suckers, grinding stops that for good.

Do you locate utilities first?

For grinding deeper than a few inches near utility lines, we coordinate with 811 locates before starting.
