Tree Trimming & Pruning
Healthy cuts, balanced canopies, and clean shaping that protect your trees and your property — done by climbers who actually understand tree biology.
Smart Pruning, Done The Right Way
Bad pruning is worse than no pruning. Topping cuts and over-thinning weaken trees, invite disease, and shorten their lifespan. Our climbers prune with structure and species in mind — making targeted cuts that improve safety, light, airflow, and long-term tree health on Colorado's tough soils and storm-prone Front Range climate.
- Structural pruning for young and mature trees
- Deadwood removal & safety pruning over driveways and roofs
- Crown thinning to reduce wind sail and improve light
- Crown raising to clear walkways, decks, and fence lines
- Selective shaping that preserves the tree's natural form
- Disease-conscious cuts and seasonal timing for best healing
PRUNING QUESTIONS
When is the best time to prune trees in Colorado?
Most deciduous trees are best pruned in late winter while dormant. Dead, hazardous, or storm-damaged limbs can and should be removed any time of year. We'll recommend the right window for your specific species.
Will pruning hurt my tree?
Done correctly, pruning improves long-term health. Done wrong — like topping or "rounding over" — it can be permanently damaging. We follow ANSI A300 best practices on every cut.
How often should I have my trees pruned?
Most established trees benefit from a maintenance prune every 2-5 years. Younger trees benefit from earlier structural pruning to set them up for life.
